— Overview
HolyDays is a full-stack reservation management app built exclusively for a family holiday property in Albufeira, Algarve. Family members can sign in, check availability and make reservations — all within a private, invite-only platform.
Challenge
Managing a shared family property through WhatsApp groups and verbal agreements creates conflicts and confusion. The family needed a simple, trustworthy system to handle bookings without double-overlaps, with visibility for everyone and no manual coordination overhead.
Solution
Built on Next.js 15 App Router with a NeonDB PostgreSQL database managed via Drizzle ORM. Authentication is handled by BetterAuth for secure, session-based access. Open-Meteo provides live weather data for the Algarve.
